John Ball Zoo

The John Ball Zoo is coming to Hudsonville! Enjoy an up-close encounter with live zoo animals in the library.  Presentations are typically between 30 and 45 minutes in length. The library has been invaded by Pokemon and we need your help to try and catch them all!  From 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm we will have various Pokemon crafts and games for trainers to enjoy. In our upstairs program room, trainers can bring Pokemon cards to and trade with fellow Pokemon trainers! Do you play Pokemon Go? We will have activate Lures at our gym to help up your Pokemon game.

Storywalk at Grand Ravines Dog Park

Take a StoryWalk® at the South Grand Ravines Dog Park! As you walk this beloved local park, read the story "Jabari Jumps" by Gaia Cornwall. This perfect summer children's book will be posted on signs along the paved trail around the dog park for your family to read together.
The story will be available to read as you stroll Sunday, June 18 through Sunday, June 25 during regular park hours.

Messy Sensory Play

Drop in with your little one to explore, encourage, and engage is Sensory Play!  We will have tubs and more filled with wonderful things to touch and experience.  Caregivers MUST be present at all times. Be prepared to get messy! Please dress accordingly and feel free to bring a towel and/or extra set of clothing.

MESSY Sensory Play will be help outdoors by our butterfly garden.  In case of rain, we will move indoors to the basement program room.  Some experiences may be modified to fit the indoor environment.

Foam Party with Stormy - Session 1 CHILDREN 7 & UNDER

Get ready for the best party in town! Join Stormy the Family Entertainer at the library for a FOAM PARTY! Foam parties are fun for all ages and abilities. Stormy will keep you dancing and having fun while you are surrounded by bubble-tastic foam. Make some fun summer memories at the library!


In order to maximize your foam fun, there will be two foam sessions.  Session 1 is for children up to age 7. Session 2 is for children 8 and up.  Please sign your children up in the correct event.  We will have part of parking lot closed off to offer activities for kids to do while they wait for their turn in the foam.


Stormy uses professional, organic soap bubbles that are safe for you and the environment. Don't forget to wear a bathing suit or athletic clothing and a towel. Footwear that can get wet may is also recommended.  Feel free to bring goggles if you would like. Adult must be present.

Get ready to unplug and take on old school gaming fun! We are taking things outside to enjoy classic games such as Red Light, Green Light, Volcano Stomp, Hula Hoops and MORE! Since the even is outside and players maybe exposed to water balloons and/or silly string, PLEASE dress accordingly and bring a towel if you would like.

*In case of rain or bad weather we will email all registrants and make an announcement on our FB page.  We will switch to super fun INDOOR unplugged games.
