Calling all summer makers! Get ready for some hands-on fun all summer long.  This week we are creating works of art using bubbles.  Your bubble art can be turned into numerous awesome things such as bookmarks (librarian favorite), thank you cards, framed art, gift tag, and more! All supplies will be provided.

The John Ball Zoo is coming to Hudsonville! Enjoy an up-close encounter with live zoo animals in the library.  Presentations are typically between 30 and 45 minutes in length. Animals are presented one at a time. Kids of all ages will have an engaging experience learning about a variety of animals. Join us for a fun filled morning!

Using science and some simple supplies, kids will be creating their own synthetic worms.  This popular project is so much slimy fun. It is a great introduction to how synthetic materials are made. 

 Come and listen to a telling of the book "Tops and Bottoms with Ottawa county agriculturist Taylor Evans.  Learn the anatomy of plants and make a living necklace! Best for ages entering Kindergarten and up.

Get ready for the best party in town! Join Stormy the Family Entertainer at the library for a FOAM PARTY! Foam parties are fun for all ages and abilities. Stormy will keep you dancing and having fun while you are surrounded by bubble-tastic foam. Make some fun summer memories at the library!

In order to maximize your foam fun, there will be two foam sessions.  Session 1 is for children up to age 7. Session 2 is for children 8 and up.  Please sign your children up in the correct event.  We will have part of parking lot closed off to offer activities for kids to do while they wait for their turn in the foam.

Stormy uses professional, organic soap bubbles that are safe for you and the environment. Don't forget to wear a bathing suit or athletic clothing and a towel. Footwear that can get wet may is also recommended.  Feel free to bring goggles if you would like. Adult must be present.

Kids ages 6 -12 (accompanied by caregiver) can explore various hands on items available in the lab that week. There is no formal class or instructions. Video or basic instructions maybe provided for some activities to help get you started. Staff will be available if assistance is needed. The Fab Lab is a great way to exercise the brain in the most fun way possible!!

Give those beach reading books a splash of fun! This week our makers are creating magnetic bookmarks and magnetic stickers. This is a simple and fun way to up your bookmark game.  We will also create fun magnetic stickers. Trade or make a unique gift for someone.
